4. Australian Drivers Championship – Adelaide Street Circuit, 1999 – Formula Holden 4000
It was on the streets of Adelaide the Halliday name took prominence after two exciting performances. During Matt’s debut year racing in Australia, he excelled at the Adelaide round when he notched up a second and a third despite never having raced on the tricky circuit before. The main Sunday race saw Halliday keep his composure after immense pressure from a chasing Adam Macrow to finish second in a race televised live throughout Australia and New Zealand.
