Matt Halliday is a New Zealand born international racing driver who has been contesting a variety of racing categories worldwide.

Having risen through the ranks of junior formulae such as karting and Formula Ford he quickly progressed to international racing championships including Formula Holden in Australia, Indy Lights in the USA and Formula Renault V6 in Europe and Asia.

The highest profile categories he has raced in include Australian V8 Supercars endurance races, USA Champcars, A1GP World Cup of Motorsport and more recently the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup contested in Europe and the Middle East.
When his commitments allow, Matt also returns to New Zealand to contest selected Porsche GT3 events.

New Zealand racing driver Matt Halliday remains upbeat despite his recent disappointment at not recording a top ten placing in last weekend’s Super Cheap Auto 1000 kilometre race at the legendary Bathurst circuit in New South Wales. Partnering regular Australian V8 Supercars driver James Moffatt in the No. 18 Jim Beam Racing Ford Falcon FG, the duo battled their way up through the 29 car field from 17th starting position into top ten contention.

Challenged by changeable weather conditions and a track he has never driven before, the Californian based Kiwi driver fought his way up to 12th place after an early setback.

HALLIDAY IN GERMANY FOR NURBURGRING PORSCHE SUPERCUP RACE
New Zealand racing driver Matt Halliday is set to contest the next round of the 2011 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup at Germany’s historic Nürburgring circuit this coming weekend. Halliday will drive the same 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 he has raced at two previous races this year but will be looking for better fortunes than he experienced in Great Britain a fortnight ago.
